Educational Workshop Overview
For CGM Consulting Srl, I designed and led a five-session workshop for two third-year classes at the ITIS Pininfarina High School in Turin.
The lessons were conducted in person at the school, fostering direct interaction and engagement with the students.
The course aimed to teach them the fundamentals of website creation, teamwork dynamics, and an introduction to SEO, all linked to the Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Workshop Detail
- Introduction: The course introduced students to WordPress, focusing on installation, configuration, and the basics of articles, categories, tags, and site structure.
- Practical Implementation: Students worked in 17 small groups, each assigned one of the SDGs. They created pages dedicated to their assigned goal and wrote individual articles related to it. The final product was an internal school website showcasing their work.
- Team Collaboration: Emphasis was placed on teamwork and the interplay between roles in web development. This approach simulated real-world project dynamics and encouraged collaborative problem-solving.
- Soft Skills Development: Beyond technical knowledge, I shared tips on entering the workforce with curiosity and proactivity.
Outcomes
- Students demonstrated quick mastery of the technical concepts and actively engaged in discussions about their future roles in the professional world.
- The supervising teacher expressed enthusiasm for my teaching methods and ability to capture the students' attention.
- The experience proved to be both stimulating and rewarding, marking my first formal teaching role in a public high school.
