Project Evolution
Context: I first designed and developed miriamgiancane.it in WordPress in 2016. Over the following years I continued to support its content, updates and maintenance. In 2026 I rebuilt the site to align it with the evolution of Miriam Giancane’s work as a psychologist and psychotherapist.
The redesign began with an authenticated audit of the existing WordPress installation. Content, URLs, media, metadata and useful historical signals were mapped before retiring the legacy Customizr, SiteOrigin and plugin stack.
Role: strategy, information architecture, UX/UI, development, SEO migration, and ongoing technical and editorial support.

What Changed in 2026
- Content architecture: five clear editorial pages, with psychotherapy separated from orientation, mentoring and training.
- Custom front end: a lightweight static implementation selected to remove dependencies no longer justified by the project and make maintenance more predictable.
- Accessible, responsive UX: semantic landmarks, a consistent heading hierarchy, keyboard and focus checks, and layouts validated from 320 to 1440 pixels.
- SEO and GEO migration: metadata, canonicals, structured data, image-aware sitemaps, robots.txt, llms.txt, redirects and deliberate retirement of obsolete legacy URLs.
- Privacy by design: no tracking, cookies or third-party scripts; the first contact remains direct through WhatsApp.
- Performance and QA: Lighthouse checks between 98 and 100 on the main pages, valid HTML and cross-device verification after deployment.
Result
The new site no longer presents Miriam’s work as a single undifferentiated offer. Psychotherapy and orientation or training now have distinct paths, the first contact is simpler, and the whole experience follows one coherent visual and editorial system.
The rebuild also preserves continuity with the original 2016 project: useful URLs and search signals were migrated, obsolete technical layers were removed, and ongoing support continues on a much cleaner foundation.
